HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of spectators converge on Coney Island every June for the famous Coney Island Mermaid Parade, the largest art parade in the U.S.!

Featuring elaborate floats, eye-popping performances and creative costumes, the parade celebrates the ceremonial start of summer and the official opening of the Atlantic Ocean, while also paying homage to the hugely popular Coney Island Mardi Gras parades of the early 1900s.

Legendary Ruby's Bar & Grill has been THE mermaid hot spot for boardwalk parade viewing and ALL-DAY food, drinks and fun since the parade was established over 40 years ago by entertainment mastermind and unofficial Coney Mayor Dick Zigun (photo in slideshow below).

We take great pride in this FIN-tastic tradition and look forward to continuing it with YOU for many more years to come. Make sure to check out the slideshow below to see some of our favorite 2024 Mermaid Parade Day pics, as well as the giant Mermaid Parade collage hanging on our wall to get a glimpse of past parades. Who knows ... you might spot yourself or someone you know!

See you on the boardwalk!
